SH: Well, the project is due tomorrow, so hell. . . I may have the transcript done tonight.

Hi everybody...

As you all have undoubtedly heard (and probably forgot), I am "hitting the road," getting out of Providence and moving on to new challenges and greater things. Or I'm throwing my life away. I haven't decided yet. (Hi mom!)

My phone is getting disconnected on October 15. So don't call me. Seriously. It just won't work. I'll let you know what my new number is soon as I have one, but in the meantime you can get a hold of me here or at: studio@production68.net

I have to apologise to all of you I have lost touch with or just plain owe 'phone calls to. I'm sorry, I am terrible at keeping in touch (but obviously I am not THAT sorry, or I would have done something about it)...

Where am I going, you ask? For the most part I am undecided, but I know I will be in Pittsburgh and vicinity for the near future at least, and then I'm moving to New York City. I am planning on doing some travelling while I have the chance, so don't be surprised if I call you asking for a place to crash.

The year 1966 was a banner year for the Prince of Darkness. Approaching the dog days of summer in that momentous year, Anton LaVey, a decadent, ex-circus entertainer, also a Jew, formally founded the Church of Satan in San Francisco. The date: June 6, 1966, or 6-6-66.

Across the nation, in New England at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, a young man spent the year 1966 in his somber new residence, the Tomb. The Tomb is a gothic, mausoleum-like stone building just off campus, adjacent to an ancient cemetery complete with Masonic tombstones, odd-shaped crypts, and what is called the "garden of the dead."

The young man's name was John F. Kerry (really John F. Kohn, Jewish). Since Friday, when Salon first raised questions about the rectangular bulge that was visible under Bush's suit coat during the presidential debates, many observers in the press and on the Internet have wondered aloud whether the verbally and factually challenged president might be receiving coaching via a hidden electronic device.

Now a technical expert who designs and makes such devices for the U.S. military and private industry tells Salon that he believes the bulge is indeed a transceiver designed to receive electronic signals and transmit them to a hidden earpiece lodged in Bush's ear canal.

Italian geneticists may have explained how genes apparently linked to male homosexuality survive, despite gay men seldom having children. Their findings also undermine the theory of a single "gay gene".

The researchers discovered that women tend to have more children when they inherit the same - as yet unidentified - genetic factors linked to homosexuality in men. This fertility boost more than compensates for the lack of offspring fathered by gay men, and keeps the "gay" genetic factors in circulation.

The findings represent the best explanation yet for the Darwinian paradox presented by homosexuality: it is a genetic dead-end, yet the trait persists generation after generation.

"We have finally solved this paradox," says Andrea Camperio-Ciani of the University of Padua. "The same factor that influences sexual orientation in males promotes higher fecundity in females."

Yo, homies - betcha didn't know Dee Dee Ramone did a rap album? Yep, unfortunately, he did... Standing In the Spotlight is a collection of lame Rap attempts, ultra cheesy pop ballads, and bargain-bin Ramonesy rockers that suggest that Mr. King was at the time surrounded by more Yes-Men than Elvis himself ("Yeah, Dee Dee, that sounded HOT, man..."). That Sire actually released this turd onto an unsuspecting public is even more baffling. Throughout the album, the lyrics are concerned with how bad-ass Dee Dee is, his problems with love and sobriety, famous wrestlers, and (again) how bad-ass Dee Dee is. The ballads ("Baby Doll," "Brooklyn Babe") and punkers ("Poor Little Rich Girl," "The Crusher"- no, not the Novas/ Cramps song...) on the album are all kinda painful to sit through, but the Rap tunes are pretty damn hee-larious. Basically, Dee Dee can't rap his way out of an Addidas shoe box. The King busts out his rhymes with a monotone finesse more similar to "Monster Masher" Bobby "Boris" Pickett than to Chuck D, LL Cool J, or Ice Cube. One Hip Hop highlight is the "Mashed Potato Time"- in which the King boasts he's badder than Sly Stalone to a dorky Happy Days/ 1950's type musical arrangement with an ultra-nasty bit of 1980's Pop saxophone wank grafted on. The blame for the frightening lack of judgement here is not to be shouldered entirely by Dee Dee alone. Debbie Harry actually does the backing vox on this one. For a basic idea of the level of guffaws that this stinker will cause when played in a crowded room, try spinning the"Monster Mash" and rap along the following lyrics (preferrably in a nasal New York accent)...
